What is an Eye Lash Curler?

People say that eyes are the window of the soul. Hence, women do everything to make their eyes look more beautiful, bigger, colored with perfect eye shadow designed to enhance natural eyes color, and so on. In fact, place a woman in a makeup store which sells eye enhancer products and I bet she will be as happy as a child whom enters candy stores.

One of the focuses in enhancing eyes beauty is eyelash. There are two tools that must not be forgotten when women need to beautify their eyelashes. One is mascara, the second eyelash curler. But, actually, what is eye lash curler? And, how do we use it?

Eye lash curler is a mechanical device, shaped almost similar like a hybrid of scissors hands which have head like a clamp. Each upper and lower part of the clamp has rubbery pad used to prevent eyelash from being yanked out. Regular eyelash curlers are made of solid metal. The clamp is usually formed like a U-shape and comes in different sizes or curvatures. It is used for cosmetic purpose. By putting the eyelash to the curler head and clamp them, the eyes look more opened, dramatic and wide.

The history of eyelash curler itself can be traced back to around 1930. However, right now, there are more patented designs, which is quite promising as women have different eyes sizes and shapes thus, need wide variety of eyelash curlers.

Regular size, manual, all metal, mechanical eyelash curler is the most common. It can be used both unheated and heated by hair dryer. When purchasing this kind of eyelash curler, you must always remember to ask whether the brand has rubber pad replacement. Otherwise, by the time the rubber pad gets dry, you must buy the new tool which can be pricey. In addition to that, as the body of the tool is made from solid metal, it is suggested to use the one that is nickel free to prevent allergy reaction (for some people). Some models also have their body portion encapsulated in rubber to give extra grip when holding. One of the brands being recommended is Oriflame because of its reasonable price at around US 4, high quality and nickel-free.

Mini size, manual, all metal, mechanical eyelash curler is a magic tool for dealing with small eyes, or fragile eyelash, which is common for Asian women. The most sought after brand is Shu Uemura. Together with its regular size, this tool is versatile. They complement each other to cover even the most difficult eyelash found in the corner of the eye. Its price ranges from US 17 into US 24 for 24-K gold plated. Off course, it can be higher when it is imported to several countries.

Electrical eyelash curler comes in varied size. It is still operated manually so do not imagine some automatic device. The battery is needed so it is able to keep the clamp-head rubber pad heated enough so eyelashes can be curled much easier. The result is long-lasting. This kind of curler usually has their body made from heat-resistant material or plastic thus, not shaped in regular scissors-like metal. The well known brand is Talika. Unfortunately, the price comes a bit higher, around US 37.

Though many brands offer variety of eyelash curler, the usage is pretty much the same. Hence, it is advisable to choose according to customer needs and budget.

Bath & Body: Vanilla Amber Musk from Bodycology - body cream

Bodycology was founded in Dallas in 2003. It claims to be among the fastest growing businesses in USA, is not tested on animals, and is for women who wants spa-quality-beauty-products without their price. I believe that is also inspired either by The Body Shop line or Bath & Body Works. The later is more suitable, I guess.

In Indonesia, Bodycology is taken its toll to success. The products are sold in a competitive price in a market where Bath & Body Works are listed as one cult, especially since people are getting sick with the choices of The Body Shop products. Bodycology taps a mid-level consumers who want a more luxuriant alternative to local body lotion without a need to pay luxurious price. I mean, well, it will not be as cheap as local Nivea, Vaseline, or Citra body lotions. Merely I say, it is less than half of a price of The Body Shop products with almost the same quality.

Vanilla Amber Musk body cream is one of most beautiful amidst all Bodycology body cream choices. FYI, they have exactly a dozen choices of perfumed body creams.

Vanilla Amber Musk is mostly vanilla. Well, we already known that. But, there is this slight hint of coconut that lends its creaminess. However, it does not tend to be over sweet but instead, it is seductive and clean because of amber and skin-scent-musk. The amber is a bit too heavy, though.

How about the texture? Now, this is getting interesting. It is for both oily and dry skin alike. It is thick and creamy with a softness that resembles whipped cream. But, when ordinary body cream tends to be warmer when being applied to skin which is a result of lanolin ingredients, Vanilla Amber Musk is cooling the skin on application. I checked the ingredients list, shea butter and aloe vera are listed. Off course, it is still not paraben-free. Well, I cannot expect mass market cream and lotion to be paraben-free a.k.a chemical-preservatives free, can I?

Oh, by the way, I forget to tell you that this cream is scented beautifully and heavily at the same time. And, somehow, it is a bit annoying for people surrounding us. I got many comments, all were negatives. For example, dear hubbie said it was scented like funeral balm. Mother said it made her having a big headache. A friend gave a contempt look. But, it is great, is not it? (LOL) I mean we need a bit of attention in these days, right?

PS: I visited Bodycology website today and found out that Vanilla Amber Musk is discontinued. It has gotten a new name Vanilla Romance instead. I bet the smell is just the same though the picture in the tube is totally different. Out of my curiosity, as the old Vanilla Amber Musk is still sold heavily in Indonesia, does this mean that once again our country is a permissive market full of discontinued products? How about the expiry date impacting the condition of the creams? Surely, I do not know the answers. But, instead, readers, beware! I warned you to buy this kind of product warily. Be safe!

Possets - Strawberry Heart ::fragrance review

I went to town named Leura, approximately 2 hours from Sydney, Australia, which is a tourist area near Blue Mountain. There, you'll find a candy store just like the image I have of the candy store in Harry Potter movies and books. A bit out of topic, what would your imagination about the candy store in the Harry Potter films be like? Back to the original topic, this candy store is filled with jars upon jars lining the shelves high up into the ceiling. Its name is Leura Candy Shop. Guess what the merchandises are? Off course, nougat, toffee, eclairs, chewy candy, honeycomb, etc. All are there, except for the candy taste weird like earwax, cockcroach, blood (huh, it's not Bertie Botts' Every Flavor Bean :-)).

One of my findings was strawberry and cream flavored candy! Going picnic to Leura that day was one of the most memorable experiences in my life.

Well, I was infatuated with strawberries seriously. Dipped into melted chocolate: it is extremely delicious. You want to know the proof, well known singer from Malaysia Ms Siti Nurhaliza just loves this kind of snack. Strawberry juice, strawberry yogurt, strawberry milk, i love them! Wearing strawberry scented scrubs, well I'm crazy of it. Even now, I am using shampoo and conditioner infused with strawberries and cream.

Well, when I received a sample of scented oil Strawberry Heart from Possets, I jumped up and down.

As a perfumed-oil, first dab was revealing its sweetness. So intoxicating. I put it on the left wrist where the smell permeated everywhere freely. If you want to know, it is just like a sweet strawberries dipped into a thick whipped cream. It's helluva sweet and creamy. Then, when you ate them, it will feel like a severe diabetes was waiting in front of your eyes, lurking to attack you :-)

But, this is unbelievably beautiful perfume. Applied on hands, it felt like I wanna eat my own hand. Imagine if it is applied throughout the body, well we could be cannibals.

And, for some reason, the image of a candy store at Leura recollected the moment when I was a kid. My eyes were wide open seeing a full jar of strawberry-cream-flavored candy. My heart was extremely happy.

Indeed, when trying this perfume, I immediately sprawled into bed and closed my eyes and smile. I hope you are also experiencing the same thing. What do you think?

Strawberry Heart fragrance can be bought directly from www.possets.com. The price is very cheap which is only USD 10 per 6ml perfume oil. Enough for normal use like 1 month.
